Over 070 springs have been identified by the State of Florida. This number is by no means complete, as many more springs are known to individuals and communities. As part of its effort to better understand and protect springs, people are encouraged to submit information about springs. The categories below are a tool the Florida Geological Survey developed to gather basic information on springs that may not have been previously recorded by the Florida Geological Survey, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, or Water Management Districts, and to provide current information about the status of the spring.
